The California Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists is one of 18 Chapters within a national society that is comprised of over 3,500 members.
The national Society of Cosmetic Chemists was founded in 1945 to promote high standards of practice in the cosmetic sciences. We serve as a focus and provide the proper forums for the exchange of ideas and new developments in cosmetic research and technology. By promoting such research, and by setting high ethical, professional and educational standards, we reach our goal of improving the qualifications of cosmetic scientists. Our mission is to further the interests of cosmetic scientists while maintaining the confidence of the public in the cosmetic and toiletries industry.
The California Chapter of the SCC has over 500 active members. We conduct seven monthly meetings in and around Los Angeles, each featuring industry speakers presenting the latest innovations and topics within the cosmetic industry. In addition, the chapter also runs an annual one day scientific seminar on the newest technology, a bi-annual Supplier's Day, and UCLA Extension Courses.
